Hollywood actress Jessica Alba has won her legal battle against a slimming company that used her name illegally on its products.

According to reports, The Belly Bandit decided to settle the civil suit filed by Alba against the company for using her name and likeness on their slimming products without her permission. Belly Bandit reportedly agreed to pay restitution to Alba and vowed to no longer use her name and her likeness to sell their post-pregnancy, slimming product.

Alba and her lawyer decided to accept the offer and settle the case amicably. When filing the case, Alba and her attorney asked for a million dollars in damages from the company. The famous actress also sought a percentage of the profits that Belly Bandit made as a result of using her name in their campaign. 

This case should serve as lesson to never use the name of celebrities to promote products or services without permission. It’s illegal, no matter how “thin” you slice it.
