Chad Kroeger and Avril Lavigne Talk About Their Engagement

Looks like Avril Lavigne’s fans were not the only people surprised about the singer’s engagement!

Music fans weren’t the only ones surprised by Chad Kroeger and Avril Lavigne‘s recent engagement. The couple is on the September 10 cover of Hello! Canada. Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger, 37, shared that his parents did not meet the Happy Ending rocker until after he popped the question. He explained:

“You never know what your parents are going to say when you tell them you’re getting married — especially when it’s with someone they haven’t met yet! My mom is a huge fan of Avril’s, so putting her on the speaker phone and telling her the news was hilarious and equally embarrassing.”

Added a happy Lavigne, 27:

“Everyone is super stoked for us. The reaction from our friends and family has been awesome!”

Wow, Avril is surely excited to get in that white dress! Congrats!

Katy Perry Spotted Hooking Up with John Mayer

Katy Perry seems to be living the Teenage Dream!

 According to witnesses, the “Wide Awake” singer was spotted spending the evening of July 19 with no other than John Mayer at SoHo House in West Hollywood. The witness spills:

 They were affectionate, holding hands and cuddling!

Reportedly, the next night, the “The One That Got Away” singer invited the infamous womanizer Mayer, 34, over to her place, where they were said to have snacked on a pizza. News came out just a few days after Katy and Russell Brand finalized their divorce. The singer is also reportedly going on casual dates with Florence + the Machine rocker Robert Ackroyd.

Gwen Stefani’s Son Debuts Blue Hair

Seems like Kingston Rossdale is feeling blue—literally!

The trendsetting 6-year-old son of Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale flaunted his new blue ‘do at NYC’s JFK airport last Tuesday. Sporting a pirate-themed shirt, red jeans, and blue boat shoes, Stefani’s eldest topped his airport outfit with a nice smiley face arm tattoo and a tinge of metallic nail polish, which showed when he held onto mommy’s hand.

However, this is not the first time Kingston was spotted standing out. July last year, the stylish toddler showed off a bright blue Mohawk with shaved sides. And though mom and dad encourage their boys to be “free spirits,” Stefani admits that sometimes, it can be tough raising such a fashionista son. She shares:

Kingston’s whole thing is, ‘I need, I need.’ He is insane right now. We’re just hoping for the best and that he’s not going to turn out to be a freak, but we’ll see.

Well, it’s okay, mommy Gwen! We don’t think your tot looks like a freak.

Demi Lovato to Host This Year’s Teen Choice Awards

Demi Lovato is certainly hitting the ground running this summer!

As if a U.S. tour and a spot as an X Factor judge isn’t enough, the 19-year-old former Disney star also took up the challenge to serve as this year’s host for the Teen Choice Awards.

Lovato will be hosting the show that promises performances by No Doubt, Justin Bieber, Flo Rida, and Carly Rae Jepsen, along with special appearances by Miley Cyrus, Lea Michele, Zac Efron, Selena Gomez, Josh Hutcherson, and Taylor Swift.

Simultaneously, Lovato herself is vying for the “Choice Twit” award against Cyrus, Justin Bieber, Jimmy Fallon, and Ryan Seacrest. The Teen Choice Awards will air on Sunday, July 22 on Fox.
