Who knew Scarlett Johansson had daddy issues? Apparently she, 26, and Sean Penn, 50, have been hanging together doing it and recently took a trip to Cabo.
The pair left on a private jet from Van Nuys airport Tuesday morning, then were spotted having dinner in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, that night, according to sources. Early Wednesday morning, they returned to Los Angeles where Johansson is shooting the film We Bought a Zoo with Matt Damon.
I’m not surprised that Ryan Reynolds is the one who was claiming to have it rough in his marriage to Scarjo. I’m not Ms. Cleo, but I’m betting Scarlett gave some older big-time director a pee-pee touch, and that didn’t go over so well with Ryan.
Us Weekly is reporting that an insider that worked with Reynolds on his upcoming film ‘The Green Lantern,’ told them that Reynolds brought his marriage problems to the set, and was open about the troubles. The source said that Reynolds “would say that she treated him badly… It never seemed like she made him a priority.”
Another source told Us that Reynolds is “beyond sad and depressed.” As for Johansson — she’s handling things differently. “She was disconnected and disaffected,” when it came to their divorce. “It was harsh.”
Well maybe I embellished that last part a bit, but hey, let’s be honest, we all know that’s what’s happening. Anyhoo, Ryan Reynolds and Scarlett Johannsson met up for a “friendly dinner” in Manhattan the other night.
That was certainly how they appeared Friday night as they got together for what a source tells PEOPLE was a “friendly meal” at Blue Ribbon restaurant in New York. “They were smiling and laughing the whole time,” the source says.
“They just wanted to connect and have a friendly chat,” the source says. “They just wanted to sit down together. The tone was light and fun despite the untruths that the media is working up. They aren’t reconciling. This was just two people who were married being civil and friendly.”
A representative for Scarlett Johansson has threatened to sue a U.K. Cosmopolitan magazine containing her tell-all interview, insisting it was “wholly fabricated” to boost the publication’s profits.
Johansson graces the January 2009 cover of Britain’s Cosmopolitan magazine, and seemingly speaks openly about her marriage to actor Ryan Reynolds. The 24-year-old actress allegedly told the magazine during an interview, “Ryan and I are in love and we’re enjoying evolving our relationship together.” “I feel that my life and work are heading in the right direction… We’re like any other couple – we feel so fortunate to be together and so happy to have made this commitment to share our lives.”
However, Johansson denies making any such statement. Her rep, Marcel Pariseau has slammed the magazine, insisting journalists were not granted an interview with the star and that the article’s context is completely false.
“(The article is an) obvious attempt… to gain monetarily by misinforming their readers,” Contactmusic quoted the rep as telling in a statement.
“(Johansson) has at no point granted U.K. Cosmopolitan an interview, and she has never discussed her personal relationships with the publication,” he rep added.
The spokesperson said: “Ms. Johansson, who goes to great lengths to preserve an authentic representation of herself with respect to her fans and the media, is disappointed to see a seemingly reputable publication inexplicably publish a work of fiction at her expense.”
Pariseau said that the actress will be seeking legal action against the magazine.
Johansson and Reynolds, 32, were married at a quiet ceremony outside Vancouver, Canada.
