We know the queen of talk won’t easily leave the TV world.  However, this time she’s trying something new with a totally new partner.  Since Harpo isn’t doing so hot these days, Oprah linked arms with premium cable network HBO to develop a drama series.

The Hollywood Reporter reports:

“The untitled project centers on a wealthy academic who has become the first black president of a prestigious liberal arts college. He and his family are thrust into national headlines, forcing them to present an idyllic public façade, all while engaging in agonizing personal battles and struggling with dark obsessions.”

Oprah will be the executive producer along with Kate Forte from Harpo, and the drama will be written and co-executive produced by Thomas Bradshaw.

Looks like something worth waiting for.

Oprah Stays Neutral on Rihanna and Chris Brown Issue

Seems like everyone wants a say in the reunion of Chris Brown and Rihanna!

However, Oprah Winfrey, whose show revealed Rihanna’s still-existing feelings for Brown, is staying in the objective zone regarding the issue. She explained:

“You know what I loved about that interview is that she came with a big, wide open heart. She was in the space of forgiveness. And that she learned a lesson, that she was repeating with Chris Brown exactly what she needed to learn from her father.”

She said that if Rihanna really gets back together with Chris, she really doesn’t think she has a say about it.

“I think that if she is prepared to deal with that and is prepared to help him help himself then so be it. I have no judgment about it. That’s why I can sit there and have such a great time with her because I do all my interviews with no judgment whatsoever. If that’s how you choose to lead your life, that’s really okay.”

It can be remembered that on the August 19 episode of “Oprah’s Next Chapter,” Rihanna confessed about how she still loved the 23-year-old R&B singer.

“We love each other and we probably always will, and that’s not anything that we’re going to try to change.”

She added:

“I think he was the love of my life. He was my first love and I see that he loved me the same way. The main thing for me is he’s at peace. I’m not at peace if he’s not happy or he’s still lonely. I care. It actually matters that he finds that peace.”

Well, you know what they say: love is sweeter the second time around!

Oprah Winfrey Retains Crown as Highest-Paid Celebrity Today

Despite the huge drop in her annual income, the Queen of Talk remains the highest-paid celebrity in the world today.

Oprah Winfrey was crowned by Forbes magazine as the highest-earning celebrity for 2012 after she earned $165 million this year. The $165 million is a slide from Winfrey’s $290 million earnings last year. Forbes said the Queen of Talk retained her crown due to the huge money she raked in from her syndicated TV shows, such as Dr. Phil, Rachael Ray, and The Dr. Oz Show.

Taking a close second on the prestigious list is Transformers director, Michael Bay, who earned a whopping $160 million this year. Most of the money earned by Bay this year was from the success of his film, Transformers: Dark of the Moon and shares from toy sales.

The third spot went to legendary sci-fi film director, Steven Spielberg, who earned $130 million in 2012. Ranking fourth is action director, Jerry Bruckheimer, who earned an impressive $115 million for 2012. Rounding up the top five is Dr. Dre, a rapper and headphone manufacturer, who raked in $110 million this year.

Rihanna and Joan Rivers Blast Each Other on Twitter

Whoa, looks like Rihanna was not happy when Joan Rivers talked that talk about her!

The “We Found Love” songstress and the Fashion Police host had a fiery exchange of tweets last Friday. This happened after Rivers called Rihanna an “idiot” for admitting that she was still in love with her ex-boyfriend, Chris Brown, during her sit-down interview with Oprah Winfrey. The host tweeted:

“Rihanna confessed to Oprah Winfrey that she still loves Chris Brown. Idiot! Now it’s MY turn to slap her.”

Seeing the tweet right away, Rihanna replied, tweeting:

“@Joan_Rivers wow u really do get slow when you’re old huh?”

However, she deleted that tweet and replaced it with:

“Slap on some diapers.”

Later on, Rivers said:

“Honey, @Rihanna, everyone knows: If he hit you once, he’ll hit you again. Read the statistics. PS – Love to have you on Fashion Police!”

Sorry, Joan. It doesn’t seem like Rihanna’s gonna take on that offer anytime soon!

Rihanna on Chris Brown: I still love him.

Despite what happened, Chris Brown still has a space in Rihanna’s heart.

During her interview with Oprah Winfrey, 58, for Oprah’s Next Chapter, Rihanna, 24, shared that she still cares for the “Turn Up The Music” singer, even though he physically abused her in 2009. She said,

“We love each other and we probably always will, and that’s not anything that we’re going to try to change.”

When the ex-couple bump into each other during awards nights or shows, the “We Found Love” singer admits,

“It’s awkward because I still love him. My stomach drops and I have to maintain this poker face and not let it get to the outer part of me. I have to maintain that and suppress it.”

With this said, is there a chance for the R&B superstars to be back in each other’s arms?
