A Hollywood icon has passed away.
It is a sad day as Dick Clark has passed away at the age of 82, confirms ABC News.
Dick died of a massive heart attack after having an amazing recovery from a stroke in 2004.
Even after his stroke, Dick continued to take part in Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve as Ryan Seacrest took over as host. Dick never missed a kiss from his wife at midnight.
After starting his career in the mailroom of an upstate New York radio station, Dick rose through the ranks and in 1952 became a radio DJ in Philadelphia, which led to his big career break: Hosting American Bandstand, a teen dance show that went national just five years later. The rest is history!
RIP Dick! Seacrest will never live up to Mr. Clark, but I guess somebody midget has to take his place.
