But why would she even say that in the first place?
Things have taken a fishy turn in the Lohan family war, with Lindsay now taking her mom Dina’s side and going on the offensive against her dad, Michael.

It seemed pretty obvious that Dina Lohan was in wrong when she and LiLo had a crazy blow-up on Wednesday morning following a night at a club in New York. During the fight, the “Welcome To The Canyons” star called her father on her phone and, crying hysterically, began telling him about the fight… while she was still arguing with her mother.
During the call, a distraught Lindsay rotated between arguing with Dina and telling Michael about how she and Dina were fighting over a $40,000 loan, and how the latter had scratched her leg and destroyed her diamond bracelet in the scuffle that ensued during their squabble.
While on the call, Lindsay also told her father that Dina was on cocaine at that very moment, and that she was saying “disgusting things” to her.
Michael Lohan has since released a recording of the phone conversation, in an obvious effort to discredit Dina. However, it also seems as though he wanted Lindsay to gain the public’s sympathy, as she sounded so pitiful and downtrodden during the conversation.
But despite his best intentions, Lindsay is absolutely livid with Michael for releasing the recording… and she’s now saying that all the bad things she said in the call about her mom were untrue—including the bit where she said that Dina was on cocaine.
Lindsay told TMZ:
“I called my father and I told him a really hurtful, untruthful lie about my mom. My mom does not do cocaine. Clearly. That’s a fact. She’s an amazing woman.”
The actress, who was clearly very upset with her mother in the recording, has now changed her tune and is trying to downplay the drama between her and Dina, saying that the gash on her leg and the broken bracelet, which she talked about in the call with Michael, were also untrue. She said:
“Mothers and daughters fight.”
Lindsay then turned the tables around and started ripping into her father for leaking the recorded phone conversation:
“Everyone kind of knows that my father’s main objective is always been to destroy mom, and gain all he can from my name… He doesn’t know what it means to be a father. At this point, this is kind of the last straw for him.”
She tearfully added:
“I really wish he didn’t do this… I’m done [with my dad].”
During the interview, Lindsay also alleged that Michael edited the recorded phone call to make it sound worse than it really was.
But the thing is, it’s pretty clear that no amount of editing could fake how upset and devastated Lindsay had sounded while she was crying to her father during the phone call.
It seems obvious that Lindsay is covering up for her mother.
The question is, why?
