Gorgeous: Katy Perry on the Cover of Billboard Magazine

Katy Perry honored as Billboard’s Woman of the Year 2012

This has been a week of looking great for Katy Perry. She was stunning in a dramatic caped gown at the recent UNICEF Snowflake Ball, and now, she shows up in a pretty red dress for the Billboard Women in Music Luncheon.

The Wide Awake singer covers the latest issue of Billboard, holding the honor of being the magazine’s Woman of the Year. She looks stunning with her alabaster skin and her hair neatly pulled back in a perfect ponytail. Magazine photos like this make us think cover girls don’t exist in our reality.

Billboard editor Bill Werde explains why they picked Katy:

“I left the movie theater inspired by that thought, and by Katy‘s strength, as did so many others around the country and the world. The staff discussed the Woman of the Year idea and within a week or two we had reached out to her management.”

Katy Perry and Grandma Get Shout Out from President Barack Obama

Seems like Barack Obama’s got another ballot in his box!

We know that the 2012 Presidential election is just a few days away, and Katy Perry knows that too! That’s why she’s showing her support for Barack Obama- Katy style.

When she performed at the America Forward! Grassroots event in Las Vegas, the Last Friday Night singer, who just turned 28, wore a skintight white dress with the phrase “President of the United States” clearly printed across her chest, and the Obama-Biden box clearly ticked. The other box for Mitt Romney? Empty.

The singer accessorized her outfit with an American flag-designed mic and red heels. Also, she encouraged the crowd to make their votes count on voting day! Perry urged:

“Don’t wait. Go tomorrow. How many of you are 18 here? It’s going to be your first time, right?”

Obviously, President Obama was pleased with Katy’s support. Obama, 51, told the crowd:

“I’ve [gotten] to know Katy and she’s a wonderful young lady. And I can tell that part of it is because of her outstanding grandma, a 50-year resident of Nevada.”

He added:

“The only thing I have to say is she got some lipstick on me when she kissed me. Fortunately somebody wiped it off before Michelle saw it. I’m telling you, you’re going to get me in trouble!”

On Twitter, Perry showed her appreciation of the night. She posted:

“So tonight was a great night! The PRESIDENT gave grandma and I unforgettable shout outs & now I am officially 28! Best. birthday. ever.”

Katy Perry and John Mayer Back Together for Good?

Looks like Katy just couldn’t stay away!

Just one week after their last breakup, the obviously on-again couple was spotted headed to lunch together at the ABC Kitchen in New York City’s West Village on Tuesday, October 16.

The lunch date was particularly significant because it was John’s 35th birthday—and he chose to spend it with Katy… and only with Katy.

That’s obviously not something he would do if he and Katy were still broken up.

Last week it was reported that the Wide Awake singer, who ended her 14-month marriage to British comedian Russell Brand earlier this year, had finally broken up with Mayer due to his inability to commit. A source revealed to RadarOnline.com:

“John just can’t commit, and he kept luring Katy back with promises that was going to change, but then he didn’t. Katy was pretty crazy about him, so she kept giving him another chance… She was sick of John disappearing for five days at a time, then booty calling her, then straightening up and treating her well, only to go back to his old behavior a few days later… Finally she was like ‘lose my number’.”

It was the second breakup for the couple—they also split up in August, but immediately got back together a few weeks later.

Before she started dating John, Katy was linked to male model Baptiste Giabiconi and Florence and the Machine rocker Robert Ackroyd.

Katy Perry Eats, Prays, Climbs

Katy Perry was on top of the world – literally.

The “Teenage Dream” songstress, 27, happily tweeted to share a pic of her gorgeous self in…guess where? At the top of a mountain! She said:

“I ate, I prayed, I climbed a volcano.”

Although the location of her newest expedition hasn’t been disclosed, it does seem like the pop star is up to spiritual and soul-related activities. She tweeted another time:

“I can feel the phoenix rising.”

There’s no update yet as to what urged the singer to embark on this newest journey, but it doesn’t seem like it was her love life. After all, though she was rumored to have broken up with John Mayer in the middle of August, sources say that the two are back in each other’s arms.
