Katie Holmes Spotted on the Way to “Dead Accounts” Rehearsals

Katie Holmes was all smiles when she was spotted on the way to her Broadway play’s rehearsals on Wednesday in New York. We take it it’s because she ‘s reunited with her daughter, Suri, who went on a short trip to Europe to be with her dad, Tom Cruise, for Thanksgiving. Katie spent the big day with her family back in her hometown of Toledo, Ohio.

Katie was wearing a beige trench coat, denim jeans, and beige heels. A pair of sunglasses completed her look, an essential for the out-and-about celebrity. Her hair was tied back in a loose bun, and we see more stray strands than we should. But then, Katie will always have that fashionable aura no matter how simple her look or how casually she’s dressed.

According to a source, Katie will have Suri all to herself for Christmas. And the fact that her play, Dead Accounts, will open later today on Broadway, surely the 33-year-old actress has a lot of things to smile about this holiday season.

Katie Holmes is a “Bad Cook”

She might be a star on the stage, but apparently not in the kitchen!

Katie Holmes had a sit-down interview for Vogue’s December issue together with Dead Accounts co-star Norbert Leo Butz. The two chatted about their Broadway play, their everyday life as actors, and their places of origin. The single mother shared:

“Me in the kitchen is a comedy. But it’s heartbreaking for me going through it..”

Butz interrupted, ”Because you’re such a bad cook?”

She replied, “Yes. But for others, they probably think it’s really funny, because all the pans are out, and I get frustrated, and suddenly it’s burning…And I went to [Mario Batali's NYC market] Eataly. I got the stuff. And it still turned out, like —not good!”

Well, at least, Katie is a lot more comfortable on stage than in the kitchen. Dead Accounts will be the second time that she will be appearing in theater; her first one being All My Sons in 2008. When asked why she loves live acting,

“It’s exciting because there’s no close-up, so a person has to use every inch of themselves. So you’re never done — and who wants to be done? It’s just another opportunity to keep growing.”

No Diva: Katie Holmes Eats Lunches With “Dead Accounts” Co-Stars

With the way she looks now, you’ll never guess that Katie Holmes underwent a much-publicized divorce!

According to a source, the 33-year-old actress is apparently making an impression upon her Dead Accounts co-stars, which include Judy Greer, Josh Hamilton, and Norbert Leo Butz. The Broadway gig marks Holmes’ first appearance onstage after All My Sons in 2008. The insider spills that before the beginning of rehearsals last summer,

“People thought they would have to step on egg shells [around her].  She’s got her personal stuff going on, but she leaves that at the door. [And] behind the scenes she’s a funny, loving girl, not an ounce of diva in her.”

Added to this, her charming personality has made it easier for the actress to make friends with the play’s crew and cast. Adds the insider:

Katie “has been eating her lunches with the rest of the cast. They’ve all really bonded.”

As proof, Holmes and Hamilton, 43, were spotted hanging out together around New York City during their rehearsal break.

The Dead Accounts team resumed work last Wednesday after Hurricane Sandy forced them to call rehearsals off on Monday and Tuesday.

A friend of Katie reveals that though Sandy shut down the power at their home, the actress and her 6-year-old daughter Suri are fine, adding that the two moved out of their NYC apartment to The Mark Hotel in the Upper East Side.

Whew, glad to know they’re okay!

Katie Holmes Meets Russia in Harper’s Bazaar

Katie Holmes just keeps looking better and better!

Recently, Harper’s Bazaar Russia published its October 2012 issue starring the one and only Katie Holmes on its cover!

In the photos taken by famous photographer Gilles Bensimon, 33-year-old Katie wore her chestnut hair in gorgeous waves with a theatrical, smokey-eye makeup and a lipstick tone that made her lips sexier. For the mag, the Holmes and Yang designer wore Versace, Dolce&Gabbana, Michael Kors, and Moschino.

Last month, the single mother finalized her divorce with ex-husband Tom Cruise. Up next, she is set to rehearse for her first Broadway show in four years, “Dead Accounts.” Meanwhile, her daughter, Suri, 6, started going to school last week. A friend of Katie spills:

“It’s like Katie got out of prison. Rebuilding her life. . . this is a rebirth!”

Suri Cruise and Katie Holmes Celebrate Milestones!

Suri Cruise is an official (private) school girl!

The past week was not just any week for the daughter of ex-couple Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes. It was her first week at her new exclusive private school! And to celebrate another milestone, she had a date with her mom!

The 6-year-old celebrity child went out with her mom to Alice’s Tea Cup for some yummy treats and toys. And of course, her mommy had something to celebrate as well! Last Wednesday, Katie Holmes and her longtime fashion partner & stylist Jeanne Yang debuted their spring 2013 collection for their Holmes & Yang collection during the New York Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.

 Sounds like something worth celebrating, indeed!
