Solomon Islands Wardrobe Faux Paux for Prince and Dutchess

Royal wardrobe malfunction!

Usually, when Prince William and Duchess Catherine visit another country, they pay courtesy by wearing the type of clothes traditionally worn by its citizens. However, when the Royal Couple paid a visit to the Solomon Islands, they might have unintentionally worn the “wrong” outfits.

The Prince and Duchess were given ensembles to wear to a simple celebration. A rep for the two states:

“We saw they weren’t the same design of the traditional clothes we were told would be gifted. So we checked with the Solomon Islands government to ensure the right ones were worn.” But the Solomon Islands’ government “reassured the clothes were correct, and so the Duke and Duchess wore them to the event.”

Added the rep:

“It was not learned until later in the evening that the clothes weren’t from the islands. But it was understood that the Duke and Duchess intended to wear traditional Solomon Island clothes and this was appreciated.  No offense was caused.”

Apparently, the outfits the Prince and Princess wore were traditional clothes of the Cook Islands. Oops!


Kate Middleton’s Cousin Poses for Playboy Magazine

Whoa, what would her cousin Kate have to say?

Kate Middleton’s second cousin, Katrina Darling, graces the September cover of Playboy magazine, wearing black lace lingerie. Inside, she stars nude in an eight-page feature.

However, posing nude is nothing new for the burlesque performer, who has been performing striptease shows in both England and United States. However, her cousins Kate and Pippa Middleton haven’t been to any of her shows. The model only knew about her relationship to the duchess shortly before Kate and Prince William got married in 2011. Darling shared of a British reporter calling her to tell her that she’s cousins with Kate:

“It was the most ridiculous thing I ever heard. It’s not every day something like that happens.”

Prince William Saves Two Stranded Teenage Girls

Prince William to the rescue!

After the 2012 London Olympics, Prince William went straight back to work as a RAF search-and-rescue captain, where things seemed to go crazy right away. Just off the coast of Anglesey, Wales, the prince, 30, saved two teenage girls aged 13 and 16 who were stranded in the water. It was reported that surfers nearby called the authorities, and the prince and his team came to the rescue right away on helicopters.

However, according to his spokesman, the prince and husband to Kate Middleton will have to decide in the middle of 2013 when his tour ends with RAF. The rep states,

“Prince William will have to make a decision in due course about his future career,” the spokesman said. “His options include taking another tour of duty with the RAF Search and Rescue Force; applying for a new position within the Armed Forces; or ending his military role and taking on full-time Royal duties.”

Well, surely lots of other girls are dreaming of being saved by a prince!

Royal Couple Runs Into Former Flames at a Friend’s Wedding

Even royals have their share of awkward moments.

Kate Middleton attended her Marlborough College friend’s wedding in the village of Bishops Lydeard in Somerset with her husband, Prince William, on Saturday. Apparently, the royal couple had to maintain a low profile at the wedding. It was reported that William’s ex-girlfriends, Olivia Hunt, whom he dated in 2000, and Rose Farquhar, whom he dated before his wife, were both among the 300 wedding guests.

Not only did William get a taste of royal awkwardness, but apparently Kate did, too! Her previous love interests, Henry Ropner, whom she reportedly dated after she and William broke up in 2007, and Willem Marx, her first love in Marlborough, were also present for the occasion.

However, if there was actually any awkwardness between the two and their former lovers, they were certainly very good at hiding it. Kate was smiling during the entire event in a blossom-print, silk chiffon dress by Beulah, paired with her favorite L.K. Bennett heels and a Jane Corbett white hat. Meanwhile, her husband wore a long-tailed coat, gray, striped pants, and a light blue vest as he lovingly held an umbrella for his wife.

The couple married in April of last year and celebrated 14 months of marriage in June.

It looks like royalty isn’t spared from awkward moments at all!

Kate Middleton Rumored to Be Sleeping on London’s Streets

Was the Duchess of Cambridge kicked out of the royal mansion?

Of course not! But rumor has it that Prince William’s wife agreed to help the Centrepoint organization raise awareness about the problem of homelessness in London by sleeping on its streets.

However, although British actress and Centrepoint ambassador Lisa Maxwell reportedly said that Kate showed interest in participating in the “Sleep Out” campaign, the royal mansion says otherwise. A representative of the royal family stated:

“This isn’t correct. There are no plans for the Duchess to sleep out for Centrepoint. I’m afraid the story is inaccurate.”

However, Kate Middleton did join her husband on a visit to Centrepoint last year.
