Oprah Winfrey Retains Crown as Highest-Paid Celebrity Today

Despite the huge drop in her annual income, the Queen of Talk remains the highest-paid celebrity in the world today.

Oprah Winfrey was crowned by Forbes magazine as the highest-earning celebrity for 2012 after she earned $165 million this year. The $165 million is a slide from Winfrey’s $290 million earnings last year. Forbes said the Queen of Talk retained her crown due to the huge money she raked in from her syndicated TV shows, such as Dr. Phil, Rachael Ray, and The Dr. Oz Show.

Taking a close second on the prestigious list is Transformers director, Michael Bay, who earned a whopping $160 million this year. Most of the money earned by Bay this year was from the success of his film, Transformers: Dark of the Moon and shares from toy sales.

The third spot went to legendary sci-fi film director, Steven Spielberg, who earned $130 million in 2012. Ranking fourth is action director, Jerry Bruckheimer, who earned an impressive $115 million for 2012. Rounding up the top five is Dr. Dre, a rapper and headphone manufacturer, who raked in $110 million this year.

Sofia Vergara of Modern Family is Forbes’ Highest-Paid TV Actress

2012 might just be Sophia Vergara’s year!

The 40-year-old newly engaged Modern Family actress ranked #1 in Forbes’ 2012 list of highest-paid TV actresses, earning a total of a whopping $19 million in the past 12 months alone. Adding to her contract on ABC, the brunette beauty appeared in four big flicks: The Smurfs, New Year’s Eve, Happy Feet Two and The Three Stooges.

Also, the Colombian native has big, lucrative endorsement deals with Pepsi, CoverGirl, and K-Mart. Adding up to all of the above, she is also co-running a media company, Latin World Entertainment, which she cofounded in 1996.

Socialite and reality star Kim Kardashian, 31, finished in second place with reported earnings of $18 million from May 2011 to May 2012. Well, it isn’t really surprising that she earned that much, considering that she posed for more than 63 magazine covers and signed a $30 million deal with E! to appear in three more seasons of her family’s reality show Keeping Up With The Kardashians. Adding to her whopping fortune is her namesake fragrance, her own clothing line, and a specialty store in Las Vegas’ Mirage Hotel.

  • Bethany Frankel ($12 million)
  • Khloe Kardashian ($11 million)
  • Tina Fey ($11 million)

It looks like among these women, it’s all about the chaching-chaching.

Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber Are Highest Paid Young Stars for 2012

American singer Taylor Swift and Canadian pop star Justin Bieber are happy souls these days.

Apparently, the two were recently declared by prestigious Forbes magazine as the highest paid celebrities under 30. According to the data gathered by Forbes, both Taylor and Bieber earned $57 million this year, which earned them crowns as the top earning young stars for 2012.

Taking the third spot on the prestigious list was Rihanna, who earned $53 million, followed by Lady Gaga and Katy Perry. To formulate their data, Forbes analyzes album and concert sales, movies earnings, profit participation, advertising work, and  endorsements that occurred between May 2011 and May 2012.

It was learned that managers, lawyers, agents, and other insiders were also consulted for the survey. To the stars who made it into the top 10, big love to all of you!

Kristen Stewart is the Highest Paid Actress Today

American actress Kristin Stewart is just 22 years old, but she is now considered the highest paid actress in Hollywood today.

Stewart reportedly earned a whopping $34.5 million between May 2011 and May 2012 to become the highest paid actress in Tinseltown. The young actress earned huge money for her two films, Twilight: Breaking Dawn, Part 1 and Snow White and the Huntsman, which both earned big money at the box office.

Taking a close second in the survey conducted by Forbes magazine was A-list actress Cameron Diaz, who earned $34 million in the past year. Diaz received a huge paycheck for her film Bad Teacher, which earned $216 million on a tiny budget of $20 million.

The third spot on the prestigious list went to Sandra Bullock, who earned $25 million. Rounding up the remaining top five slots were Angelina Jolie at $20 million and Charlize Theron at $18 million. Stewart became a household name around the world after playing the role of Bella, the love interest of vampire Edward Cullen, played by her boyfriend Robert Pattinson, in the original Twilight movie.
