Following the success of E.L. James’ erotic novel Fifty Shades of Grey, a musical spoof of the bondage story will hit Gramercy Theater in Manhattan this week, titled 50 Shades! The Musical. However, if you’re looking for hard core porn performances, you won’t get it. Instead, you’ll be entertained with singing, dancing, and lots of sexual innuendo.

Director Albert Samuels guarantees a good time, reports The New York Post.

“It winks at the novel — but there’s some sexiness, too. It’s a super-fun time.”

This isn’t the first spoof of the best-selling novel, as there’s already a literary parody titled Fifty Sheds of Grey, which tells a story about an owner of a garden shed who’s ‘thrust into a world of pleasure’ by his wife, an erotic novel reader.

Fifty Shades of Grey has already sold more than 65 million copies worldwide, and currently being produced as a feature film by Universal set to premiere this year.

The musical spoof has already been a hit in Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland, and also a hit in Chicago last month.

Is Ryan Gosling the new Christian Grey?

According to some sources, the husband of the author of Fifty Shades of Grey spilled that the Notebook actor is in the talks of snatching the lead role for the upcoming movie version of the “erotic novel.”

E.L. James’ husband, Niall Leonard, shared to the U.K.’s Now magazine that the “last [thing] he heard” was that Gosling is topping the list of possible Christian Greys. Gosling’s party is yet to comment on the rumor, but surely, all of the girls out there are already saying “YES!” right now.

And along with the buzz of a Fifty Shades of Grey movie in the making, possible casts have been popping up here and there. Even Vampire Diaries’ Ian Somerhalder publicly expressed his desire for the challenging role of Christian Grey. He said:

“I absolutely would be up for that. Absolutely. That would be a pretty incredible thing. And hopefully that could pan out, I think.”

Selena Gomez Thinks She’s Too Young for Fifty Shades of Grey

American singer/actress Selena Gomez has no desire to play Anastasia Steele in the film version of E. L. James’ steamy bestseller Fifty Shades of Grey.

Gomez said in an interview she is too young to portray the role in the erotic, bestselling novel. The 19-year-old celebrity admitted to partially reading the novel and said the role fits an older women, not her.

With Gomez already out of the running for the coveted role, Scarlett Johansson, Angelina Jolie, Kristen Stewart, and Emilia Clarke are being eyed to portray the role of a college graduate who is introduced to the world of bondage and kinky sex by a manipulative billionaire. Reports also said there is a slight possibility that Jolie will direct the film version of the bestselling, erotic novel.

Gomez will soon be seen in the film Spring Breakers as a bikini-clad thief alongside Vanessa Hudgens and James Franco. Whoever takes on the role of Anastasia Steele will definitely get a big career boost since the novel is selling like hotcakes around the world.
