Twilight Fan Gets Hit By a Car in Comic-Con, Dead

The festive Comic-Con becomes … not-so-festive for a while.

Comic-Con attendees and guests get shocked at the news of a 53-year-old woman, identified as Gisella G., who gets hit by a car while crossing the street to get in line to catch the Twilight panel at the San Diego Convention Center.

Lt. Andra Brown of the San Diego Police said that the 53-year-old fan woman “ran into the middle of Harbor Drive and tried to stop in her tracks but it was too late.” He added that the driver, age 67, who apparently hit the woman, had to stay in the scene for questioning.

Reportedly, the avid fan has been waiting in line since two days before the accident to see the The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 panel.

Twilight’s film distributors, Lionsgate and Summit Entertainment, shortly published a statement saying:

Lionsgate, Summit, and the entire ‘Twilight’ community are saddened by the death of a Comic-Con fan today due to a traffic accident during the hours leading up to this year’s convention in San Diego. Our thoughts and condolences go out to the victim’s family and friends. She will be respectfully remembered this Thursday in Hall H.

Summit also tweeted:

We are saddened by today’s tragic loss. Our thoughts and condolences go out to her loved ones. She will be remembered this Thursday at Comic-Con.

Some of the Twilight stars, like Nikki Reed and Asley Greene, tweeted their condolences to the family. Reed, 24, posted on her twitter account:

So sad. I’m speechless.

Greene, 25, also said:

I’m so sorry to hear the devastating news about Gisella G. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends.

Condolences to the family of Gisella G.
