Justin Bieber’s newest album just earned him the rights to the “Best-selling Debut Week” title for 2012.
Believe, the 18-year-old singer’s newest album, sold 374,000 copies in its release week, far surpassing the debut week numbers for his past albums, Mistletoe (210,000 copies) and My World (282,000 copies).
The album knocked Madonna’s album, MDNA, which sold 359,000 copies during its debut week in April, out of the top spot.
Island Def Jam, Bieber’s label, also told Billboard that the next single from the singer off the Believe album will be “As Long As You Love Me,” an upbeat track that features rapper Big Sean. Even though the song has been previously published as a preview track for Believe, it will be hitting the airwaves beginning July 9th.
Of course, none of this would be possible if it weren’t for the heartthrob’s 24 million Beliebers.
You read that right. 24 million.
