Music Milestone: Adele’s Album ‘21’ Sells 10 Million Copies

Adele becomes the first British female artist to sell 10 million copies of an album in the US. This is based on Nielsen SoundScan data. Adele’s hugely successful album ‘21’ was released in 2011, and spawned worldwide hits like Rolling in the Deep and the brokenhearted’s perpetual anthem—Someone Like You.

‘21’ is the third album to cross the 10-million mark in 2012, after Linkin Park’s Hybrid Theory and Usher’s Confessions. However, it has been the fastest to reach that milestone—in less than 2 years—within the last decade.

The soul singer is on a break at the moment after giving birth to her son earlier this year—and is enjoying the success of her latest song, the theme from the James Bond flick, Skyfall, which is said to be the most  critically acclaimed 007 film ever.

Adele Belies Yarn She is Already Married to Boyfriend Simon Konecki

British singing superstar Adele has denied reports she is already a married woman.

On her Twitter account, Adele said she is not married and officially trashed media reports she and boyfriend Simon Konecki got married secretly.

Earlier, the media speculated that Adele and her boyfriend  have already tied the knot. Sources said Adele is currently sporting a gold band on her ring finger, which could mean she and Konecki got hitched in secret.

Some persons close to the 24-year-old singer also noticed that she looks very contented these days. Friends of the singer said Adele is very much happy with her relationship with Konecki.

Adele is currently pregnant and could give birth in a month’s time. Now that we know the marriage yarn is not true,  we just wish Adele all the best on her pregnancy.

Adele Expecting First Child with 36-Year-Old Boyfriend

Rumor has it…Adele’s pregnant!

Only this time it’s not a rumor! The “Someone like You” singer announced that she is expecting her first baby with her boyfriend, Simon Konecki. The 24-year-old, soon-to-be mommy released the news to her fans on her website, saying:

“’I'm delighted to announce that Simon and I are expecting our first child together. I wanted you to hear the news direct from me. Obviously we’re over the moon and very excited, but please respect our privacy at this precious time. Yours always, Adele xx”

Adele has been dating Simon, 36, since the summer of 2011, and they publicly announced their relationship in January. In an interview, the singer said that she “really wants to be a mom,” and her goal is to have three children by the time she reaches 30. She happily joked:

“I should better start getting on with it!”

Not long after the Grammys in February, Adele also shared that she was “f*****g off for four or five years” to focus on her personal life.

Adele Once Suffered from a Drinking Problem

One of the top professional singers today once experienced a personal demon that greatly affected her personal life and career.

According to a biographer, Adele once had a drinking problem that affected the concert performances of the 24-year-old British singer. Biographer Marc Shapiro, who penned the unofficial book, Adele: The Biography, that chronicles the singer/songwriter’s childhood in North London as the daughter of a single mother, said the drinking problem was bad enough that the singer would forget the lines she was supposed to be singing during concerts.

The much-awaited book is set to be released worldwide on July 17. Shapiro said the singer’s father is an alcoholic. He also portrays Adele’s life as a rags to riches story with the star starting with nothing before becoming a famous singer.

Adele’s Vogue Magazine Cover is Not Selling Well

She might be one of the biggest singers in the world today, but, sadly, Adele is not that popular with the millions of Vogue readers.

According to reports, the copy of Vogue magazine featuring Adele on the cover is not selling well. Vogue editor Alexandra Shulman revealed the not-so-great news to the world through the company’s U.K. website at vogue.co.uk. Shulman said they discovered that music stars are not very popular among their typically fashion-oriented readers.

She said they initially thought Adele’s magazine cover would be a sure hit with their readers, but they were wrong. Adele’s Vogue cover might not be a success, but to her fans she remains a tremendous singer.
