It’s probably the second most awaited event in any inauguration, the president and his first lady’s dance.
At the Commander-in-Chief’s Inaugural Ball on January 21, President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama danced to Jennifer Hudson’s beautiful rendition of the soul classic, Let’s Stay Together.
The president first gave a speech honoring American troops and urged the audience to give the brave men and women a round of applause. Afterwards, as way of introducing the first lady, he dropped this cute joke, “There’s one last thing I’ve gotta do. I’ve got a date,” to loud cheering from the audience.
The president then continued expressing his appreciation for the lady ‘who inspires’ him ‘everyday.’ Michelle Obama was radiant in a red chiffon gown from Jason Wu and shoes from Jimmy Choo.
It was a sweet, romantic take on an already-iconic dance. We wonder which couple are we going to see dancing next, in four years’ time!
She is one of President Obama’s high-profile supporters.
Beyonce stepped out at the US Capitol for the inauguration of President Barack Obama with her rapper-husband Jay-Z. And they looked every inch the power couple that they are.
Beyonce did the honor of singing the national anthem at the ceremony. She wasn’t the only music star who performed at the event. Kelly Clarkson sang My Country Tis of Thee, while James Taylor did America the Beautiful.
Beyonce didn’t only hit a high note with her singing. She was also a beautiful sight to behold that morning. She couldn’t look more stunning in a black lacy Emilio Pucci gown and black coat. The singer sported wavy blonde locks in the tradition of ‘big hair.’
Her dress wasn’t the only eye-catching thing in her ensemble. Beyonce wore 80-carat emerald earrings and a 50-carat ring by Lorraine Schwartz. And if those aren’t stunning enough, the singer topped everything off with nothing but orange nail color!
She’s often seen around New York with some stray hair strands in her ponytail, yet interestingly, she still manages to look chic and fashionable. But this time, we can’t complain Katie’s hair is unkempt. Just see for yourself in these ad photos.
The actress has just signed up with hair-care brand, Alterna. Reportedly, the deal not only makes Katie an endorser but also a co-owner. Interesting.
The actress shares:
“I love that Alterna uses natural and organic ingredients and stays away from harsh chemicals like sulfates and parabens…It’s good for my hair and good for the earth, so I feel good using it.
This isn’t the first time Katie Holmes has ventured into the lucrative world of beauty and fashion. First, she co-owns a clothing line, Holmes and Yang. Second, she has just been launched as the face of Bobbi Brown cosmetics.
In these photos, we can truly say Katie Holmes—or her hair—has never looked as good before. A real beautiful brunette.
The Grammy-winning singer will be performing at the NFL super event for the third time. She will sing the national anthem on February 3 for the opening of the Super Bowl XLVII in New Orleans. She also performed for the NFL back in 2005 and 2008, but this is the first time she will be doing the national anthem.
Alicia Keys at the BET Honors 2013
Music superstars who have sung the national anthem in the past at the Super Bowl include Kelly Clarkson, Mariah Carey, and Whitney Houston. This year’s Super Bowl will also see another superstar, Beyonce. The singer will be performing at the halftime show. She also sang the national anthem back in 2004 in Houston.
One of the most talked-about national anthem performances happened in 2011 in Dallas, when Christina Aguilera got her lyrics mixed up.
Do you think Alicia Keys will pull off one of the best national anthem renditions in Super Bowl history?
