“Set Fire to the Rain” singer Adele gave her first interview since having vocal cord surgery. The British singer talked to Anderson Cooper for “60 Minutes” where she discussed how difficult it was for her to get her voice back after surgery.
The English singer-songwriter discussed her vocal cord surgery, after which she had to write out her words and use a phone app to communicate.
Of using the electronic devices to converse with others, Adele told, “The great thing is I love to swear. Most of [the apps] you can’t swear on. But I found this one app where you can swear, so I’m still really getting my point across.”
As for the moment in which she knew she needed medical treatment, the Grammy nominee said, “[It was} like someone put a curtain over my throat…and I could feel it. It felt like something popped in my throat.”
Then describing her operation, the 23-year-old explained, ”I had laser surgery. [They] put lasers down your throat, cut off the polyp and kind of laser your hemorrhage back together and fix it.”
Surgery must have helped because Adele is slated to perform at the Grammy Awards this year.
