Getting a pixie-cut ain’t that easy, just ask Tia Mowry!

Mowry, 34, admits:

“I cried! I’m just going to be honest with you, I definitely cried. I really wasn’t expecting the shock value. A lot of people ask me, ‘What advice would you give to women who want to chop it off?’ I said, ‘Don’t think about it because if you do you won’t do it.’ But it’s very liberating and it definitely saves time.”

She welcomed her first baby, Cree Taylor, together with her hubby Cory Hardrict, 32, on June 28, 2011. She shares that a benefit of her new ‘do is that it saves so much of her precious mommy time because she doesn’t need to get ready for a long time!

“I am so happy that I decided to cut my hair. It literally takes me three minutes to do my hair. I get out of the shower, put some conditioner in it, and it’s just ‘let’s go’ and I love that! I think it’s very very important to find products that allow us to be able to have more time to do things like that.”

She also adds that instead of hitting the gym, she’s gonna spend more momma time with her son! She confesses:

“I was shocked that my belly didn’t completely go down. I was so used to seeing so many women in the media flaunting their bodies 4 weeks after having a baby — and kudos to those who have genes that they can get right back into shape 2 weeks, 4 weeks after having a baby. But that never happened to me, and I remember going to my doctor asking why. ‘Why didn’t my belly go down right away?’ And she was like, ‘Tia, it takes up to a year.’ So, I wish somebody would have been honest with me about that.”

She adds:

“And it’s okay for you to not have to be in the gym every single day to try to lose your weight. Because for me personally, I like to spend most of my time with my child [to] savor these moments because they’re not a little tiny baby forever.”
