Think Like a Man Takes Weekend Box Office Crown Over Hunger Games

The reign of The Hunger Games as the top winner at the weekend box office in North America is officially over. After four weeks as the number one movie in America and Canada, The Hunger Games finally slipped to third place in box office ticket sales last weekend.

The new date-night movie, Think Like a Man, won the weekend box office crown, earning $33 million last weekend. Think Like a Man is based on Steve Harvey’s dating advice bestseller and features Michael Ealy, Taraji P. Henson, and Gabrielle Union.

Taking second place in a tight race was yet another date-night movie, The Lucky One, starring rising actor, Zac Efron. The Lucky One, an adaptation of a popular Nicholas Sparks romance novel, earned $22.8 million, taking runner-up honors in the weekend box office race.

The Hunger Games still earned an impressive $14.5 million last weekend in its third place position.

Thanks to the strong showing over its debut weekend, the producers of Think Like a Man hope their movie will retain its crown for a few more weeks, as well.

Gabrille Union Banned From Seating On Court-side For Heat’s Home Games

While a typical boyfriend might love to have his girl by his side during important moments in his life, that is clearly not the case for Miami Heat superstar guard, Dwayne Wade, at least not as far as his home games are concerned.

Wade made the tough decision to ban his actress girlfriend, Gabrielle Union, from court-side seats in order to minimize distraction during his team’s home games. According to reports, Wade decided it would be better if his girlfriend was seated at least a few seats away from court-side. Apparently, Union has a tendency to create scenes by annoying opposing players or the game’s referees.

Wade wants his girlfriend to keep a low profile during his home games and not disrupt game play. As a loving girlfriend, Union fully respects Wade’s decision and admits that she has a tendency to create scenes because she deeply loves the sport of basketball. She also admits to sometimes annoying Wade himself when she feels he isn’t playing well or is committing too many errors during the game.

We just hope the Heat can now win more home games with Union safely away from court-side seats.

Nigel Barker, J. Alexander and Jay Manuel Got Fired In America’s Next Top Model

It looks like the wildly popular television model search, America’s Next Top Model, will have a new set of mentors next season. Tyra Banks, the show’s host and producer, fired photographer, Nigel Barker; runway coach, J. Alexander; and creative director, Jay Manuel.

According to reports, Banks made the tough decision not to renew their contracts, even though the three mentors are among her closest friends. Sources said Banks decided to ax the three due to disappointing ratings the past couple of years. She said it’s sad to part ways, but it’s time to give the show a new look and feel.

Fans of the show hope the next edition of America’s Next Top Model will be more exciting and have better ratings.

New Director for Hunger Games Sequel

The Hunger Games sequel will have a new director. Gary Ross, the original director of the smash hit, declined to direct Catching Fire, the first sequel. Sources claim Lionsgate Studios, the producer of the films, is wooing Francis Lawrence, the man behind the films I Am Legend and Water for Elephants, to replace Ross.

Although Lionsgate has yet to officially confirm Lawrence as the director for Catching Fire, he is the favorite because of his clearer picture. Ross expressed sadness over his departure, but explained that his schedule will not allow him to direct the film. Lionsgate has a fixed, tight production schedule for the film, and he could not meet those demands with his schedule.

Ross denied rumors that his decision was based on money. In a statement, Lionsgate expressed sadness over losing Ross, but insisted they fully respect his decision. Lionsgate hopes to work with Ross on another film in the future.

Lily Collins Now Becoming More Famous Like Her Dad

The fast-rising Hollywood star is making a name for herself, just like her famous father, singing superstar Phil Collins. According to reports, Lily Collins is on her way to becoming a household name around the world thanks to her recent screen performances.

Lily recently starred in the hit movie Mirror Mirror, playing the iconic Snow White opposite Hollywood superstar Julia Roberts. Sources commented that before the role, Lily was introduced as Phil Collins’ daughter, but now Phil Collins is being introduced as Lily Collins’ dad.

Industry experts believe the sky is the limit for Lily in Hollywood if she remains humble, hard working, and devoted to her craft.
