Watch This: ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ Musical Spoof

Fifty Shades of Grey

Following the success of E.L. James’ erotic novel Fifty Shades of Grey, a musical spoof of the bondage story will hit Gramercy Theater in Manhattan this week, titled 50 Shades! The Musical. However, if you’re looking for hard core porn performances, you won’t get it. Instead, you’ll be entertained with singing, dancing, and lots of sexual innuendo.

Director Albert Samuels guarantees a good time, reports The New York Post.

“It winks at the novel — but there’s some sexiness, too. It’s a super-fun time.”

This isn’t the first spoof of the best-selling novel, as there’s already a literary parody titled Fifty Sheds of Grey, which tells a story about an owner of a garden shed who’s ‘thrust into a world of pleasure’ by his wife, an erotic novel reader.

Fifty Shades of Grey has already sold more than 65 million copies worldwide, and currently being produced as a feature film by Universal set to premiere this year.

The musical spoof has already been a hit in Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland, and also a hit in Chicago last month.

So, are you going to watch it?

Hillary Clinton’s Biopic to be Produced

HILLARY CLINTON

Political drama is always hot in Hollywood, and the next one in line is Hillary Clinton’s biopic written by a newcomer writer from South Korea, Young Il Kim. The biopic, titled Rodham, tells the story of a young Hillary Clinton in her twenties, who is torn between her career and boyfriend.

Kim tells POLITICO about Bill Clinton’s scandal and Hillary’s journey:

“There’s this incredible irony that she worked on the impeachment process that was used against her husband. But it’s also really a journey of a woman who was torn between her personal desires and her professional ambition — both literally pulled her thousands of miles apart, because Bill did not want to leave Arkansas, and she did not want to leave Washington, D.C.”

Written based off Kim’s research from Clinton books, the script managed to catch the attention of Hollywood’s honcho, Richard Arlook, who said:

“I just remember being at his house, and when I put the script down, I was like, ‘Dad, did you know this about Hillary Clinton? Did you know that about Hillary Clinton?’. I’ve always seen her in the public light and formal and buttoned-down, and here she is making out with Bill and graduating college and trying to find a job. It’s them starting off and meeting and falling in love and facing all the challenges and struggles that everybody else does.”

Now, which actress do you think will make a perfect Hillary Clinton?

Harry Styles Doesn’t Have the OK from Taylor Swift’s Dad?

Taylor Swift and Harry Styles

This sounds serious. One Direction’s Harry Styles has been dating Taylor Swift for sometime now and apparently, Taylor’s dad, Scott Kingsley Swift, didn’t waste any time to have a man-to-man talk with his daughter’s boyfriend. Mr. Swift reportedly told Harry: “Don’t break my daughter’s heart.”

British tabloid The Sun also reported that a source said that Mr. Swift actually likes Harry but he’s not looking for grandchildren anytime soon.

The source said:

“He likes Harry but he wants them to slow down and take things easy. It’s clear to everyone they are smitten with one another and already talking about marriage. He doesn’t want them to split up as fast as they’ve got together and for Taylor to end up devastated.”

Chill, Mr. Swift. The boy is only 18!

Do you think the man-to-man talk was a bit much or was it necessary? Thoughts?

‘New Kids on the Block’ IS BACK!

NewKids On The Block on NBC's "Today" Show

Those attempting to be the world’s greatest boybands, please make way for them because these guys are back.

New Kids On The Block is back and they’re back big time. Donnie Wahlberg will reunite with his fellow boyband members: Jonathan and Jordan Knight, Joey McIntyre, and Danny Wood on a totally brand new 2013 tour that will be announced on January 22nd. But that’s not all.

The group will also have a new single released, AND an all-new album this coming March.

Okay stop the squealing, girls. But if you live in Boston or anywhere near the boys’ hometown, you can scream again because Wahlberg said:

“We’re going to try to play in and around Boston more than once.”

Meanwhile, if you’re a fan of Donnie Wahlberg, watch out for a new reality show about Wahlburgers, the family’s restaurant in Hingham. Donnie will shoot the pilot this month along with his brothers Paul and you guessed it, Mark Wahlberg. Sounds yummier than burgers, we know.

Anyway, back to NKOTB: Will you be watching their concert? Or in fact, are you still in love with them?

Wildfox Goes “Clueless”!

Wildfox 001

Remember Alicia Silverstone’s blockbuster movie, Clueless? The 1995 movie has become an inspiration for L.A.-based clothing line Wildfox for the brand’s Spring 2013 collection.  The new lookbook is so spot-on that we really thought they magically traveled in time and brought back Cher’s style —which is still relevant for today’s generation.

Let the pictures do the talking:

The line consists of pieces heavily inspired by the movie, including some of the catchiest phrases used by the characters like “As If” and “Totally Bogus” printed on some of the t-shirts.  Wildfox designer, Kimberley Gordon, who used to be a huge fan of Clueless, tells MTV Style:

“I have always wanted to express something creatively that is more than just fashion, it’s a feeling, a lifestyle, it’s about being a girl. It’s capturing a moment. I think I felt it first when I was about 12 around when Clueless came out and I was so in love with the characters, I didn’t just love the clothes, I loved the girls who wore the clothes – which made me want to wear them even more.”

Are you feeling Wildfox’s new take on Clueless? Would you relive the past and get into Cher’s shoes? Discuss!
