40th Anniversary American Music Awards - Heidi Klum

American Music Awards: Winners on the Red Carpet

Having watched stars shine at the recently held 40th American Music Awards in LA, we’re convinced metallic is IN.

Literally, our red-carpet winners shimmered, using metallic elements and details in their ensembles. Now, where’s that bottle of gold dust you’re saving for Christmas?

Heidi Klum

Ladies, prepare your sighs. Heidi Klum is leggy in this lacy gold number from Alexandre Vauthier. She tastefully paired it with matching golden heels from Louboutin.

Ginnifer Godwin

Eye candy. Presenter Ginnifer Godwin is sweet in a pastel pink dress from Oscar de la Renta. The  actress completed her very feminine vintage look with strappy silver sandals (we’re gushy about those!) from Jimmy Choo and a silver clutch bag.

Carrie Underwood

American Idol Carrie Underwood actually wore three dresses to the awards, but this one is our favorite. A floor-length, deep purple winner from Abed Mahfouz. Add shimmering and glowing to the adjectives. The dress and the fit are perfect. The color reminds us of yam! Yum!

Taylor Swift

Country music superstar and winner Taylor Swift pulls a vintage look in this lacy gold mini-dress by Zuhair Murad. The songstress completed her golden look with strappy metallic sandals from Jimmy Choo.

Gwen Stefani

Never mind that she didn’t go in a conventional gown, we love Gwen in this dressed-down look—patterned metallic jacket, black pumps, and black pants.

Carly Rae Jepsen

It’s not maybe. With this sparkling pale pink dress, Carly Rae Jepsen really won our approval.

Stacy Keibler

George Clooney’s girlfriend, Stacy Keibler, is elegant in this patterned metallic Collette Dinnigan mini dress. The dress may be too short (yeah, mini) for comfort, but we love the design and the shimmering details. Stacy slipped on golden heels to complete the look.

Lucy Hale

We remembered someone saying the little black dress is the most iconic fashion item ever—well, aside from a pair of good old Levi’s. Pair it with pretty red shoes, and you got the modern-fairy-tale look. Though, not exactly on the metallic bandwagon, Lucy Hale shines in her own right in this ensemble.

To sum up our list, we can only say thanks to shimmer and strappy shoes, the American Music Awards was saved from a lot of fashion disasters.
