It was just the “distance” thing. Or so they say

According to reports, the 22-year-old singing superstar has broken up with her boyfriend, Conor Kennedy of the famous political clan. Conor is the son of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Mary Kennedy.

It was indeed a true summer fling, which had Taylor spending time with the Kennedys in Hyannis Port, Massachusetts. That included visiting Mary Kennedy’s grave. The barely-three-month-old romance fizzled out quite quickly, ushering autumn in.

Apparently, Taylor has been busy promoting her latest album, Red, to be spending time with Conor as she should have done. According to a friend, the pair had not seen each other in a month prior to the split. But was it really just about the “distance thing”?

There are speculations on the real reason behind the split. According to reports, 18-year-old Conor saw that Taylor was “coming on too strong” in the relationship and that she was getting “too serious too fast.” Her obsession with the Kennedy family must have “freaked” him out. But a source close to the couple has confirmed that the split was mutual and that there are no hard feelings.

It’s no secret that Taylor Swift is a “fan” of the Kennedy family, who sought matriarch Ethel Kennedy’s approval before dating Conor. The country singer reportedly bought a mansion near the famous clan’s compound.

The romance started very well, which included kissing and walking while holding hands in beautiful Hyannis Port. This makes us kinda sad for the Taylor-Conor ‘Love Story.’ Conor joins Taylor’s list of famous exes: John Mayer, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Joe Jonas.

We wonder, will Taylor write a song for Conor in the tradition of Dear John? Are they never ever getting back together?
