Now who didn’t see this coming from a mile away?
For the second time in the last three months, Katy Perry and John Mayer have called it quits.
Though things never seemed to be serious between them to begin with, the couple, who started dating in late July, reportedly broke up because of John’s commitment issues.
A source close to the “Wide Awake” singer tells RadarOnline.com:
“John just can’t commit, and he kept luring Katy back with promises that was going to change, but then he didn’t.”
The source continues:
“Katy was pretty crazy about him, so she kept giving him another chance.”

When the two first broke up in August, it was said that John had been the one who did the dumping—allegedly via email. But now, it was Katy who pulled the plug.
The insider explains:
“John liked Katy, so he wanted to keep her in his life, but it just wasn’t up to Katy’s standards. She needs the guy to be on board 100 percent and she was sick of John disappearing for five days at a time, then booty calling her, then straightening up and treating her well, only to go back to his old behavior a few days later.”
Fed up with the notorious lothario, Katy finally decided to end things once and for all. The source reveals:
“Finally she was like ‘lose my number.’”
Before hooking up with John Mayer, Katy had a brief fling with Florence and the Machine guitarist Robert Ackroyd, whom she was spotted making out with at the Coachella Festival in April. And prior to that, the pop star was linked to male model Baptiste Giabiconi.
Her divorce from Russell Brand was finalized in July.
