You know you’re a legend when your memorabilia sells for high prices, even when you’re already dead.
Take pop icon Michael Jackson, for instance. Commemorating the third anniversary of his death, Michael Jackson memorabilia was sold at the Music Icons and Sports Legends auction for high prices. Buyers paid $40,625 for the handwritten lyrics to his classic single, “Billie Jean“, and a whopping $50,000 for the 1984 Video Music Award he won.
However, living legends also make a lot of money from the sale of their memorabilia. Madonna, for instance, made $34,375 for the negligee she wore on her Blonde Ambition tour.
My question is who are these people spending that kind of money on memorabilia?
