Recently departed singing superstar Whitney Houston will be buried on Saturday at her hometown of Newark, New Jersey.
The family of the late singer decided to bury Houston in Newark since the place is very special to her.
The funeral of the 48-year-old singer will be private and set to be attended by her family, relatives and close friends.
Aside from being the place of her birth, Newark is also the place where Houston started her singing career as a child at the New Hope Baptist Church, where her mother, Grammy-winning gospel singer Cissy Houston, led the music program for many years.
According to reliable sources, Houston’s cousin singing superstar Dionne Warwick also sang in its choir on the said church.
Houston was earlier found dead inside her hotel room at Beverly Hills, California, some hour before she was expected to perform at a
pre-Grammy Awards party.
Investigators said the singer was found underwater and seemingly unconscious when she was pulled from a bathtub.
A thorough investigation is still underway to determine the exact cause of the singer’s death.
