We all know it’s rather hard to move on from the glorious era in music: the eighties. And some of the legends are creeping back and I couldn’t be happier. Enter Richard Marx a balladeer, producer and singer of the 80s, who did an awesome cover of Katy Perry’s “The One That Got Away”.
Marx told AOL Music:
“I’m not really a ‘covers’ kind of guy, but I was listening to KP’s album in my car and kept playing this song over and over. The production is perfect for Katy. Max Martin always nails it. But I also felt there was another approach that would be show off the song itself a bit more. So I went into my studio and did this … wrote a string chart … but kept production very limited. Plus … I was bored that day!”
Loving the cover. Any possibility of a duet or collaboration? I’m sure it will be great!
