Private Practice actor, Taye Diggs revealed that he underwent a surgery when he was young because he was born with extra digits on each hand, resulting in a total of 12 fingers.

Diggs said the doctors removed the extra fingers upon his parents’ request so that he won’t face ridicule as he grew up. He said:

“I know you guys are thinking that I’m kidding. As a child I had an extra digit on each hand, and I remember my mom told me, they (the doctors) asked her if she wanted to let the digit grow or to remove it, and they removed it – but I could have been really handy.”

Had he been born in India, maybe Taye Diggs could high-six Indian actor, Hrithik Roshan who’s also born with six fingers on each hand… and kept the extra fingers as in India, this is seen as a blessing from the gods.
