After a few frightful nights, the stars in Hollywood can rest a little easier today. Over the course of several days, the police suspect an arsonist set up to 55 fires in and around Los Angeles, CA. While investigators claim “it is too early to speculate” whether or not the pony-tail clad fellow is indeed the guy they are looking for, it’s clear that the fire-starting materials (to include charcoal) he was storing in the back of his Canadian-plated van probably won’t help his cause. While fire investigators won’t offer details regarding the cause of the fires for fear of spurring a string of copycats, a similar looking man was caught on a surveillance video leaving the scene of one of the fires.

The suspect, said to be a German national who was possibly angered at his mother’s deportation from the US, smiled eerily in the backseat of the police vehicle and was reportedly identified by a US Immigration agent.
