For 2012, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi is switching things up a bit. The hair bump is gone. The ill-fitting clothes and tacky accessories are too. Not to mention the whole Guidette façade. While most of America has embraced “The Jersey Shore” cast member as an Italian American icon, the truth is that Polizzi is actually Chilean born, but adopted by Italian American parents, and raised as one of their own.

Does this mean that the Jersey Shore isn’t real? Say it ain’t so!

Polizzi debuted long red locks, and a lean, svelte, reportedly 98 lb. body via Twitter where she proudly acknowledged her “Chilean roots baby!” Maybe “Little Miss Pickles, Burps, and Farts” has had enough of being the butt of everyone’s jokes. If her new look is any indication of the direction of Snooki’s future career, things just may be looking up. Cheers to you Nicole!
