After two kids, and five years of dating Camila Alves, Matthew McConaughey truly made this year a “Marry” Christmas. According to his Twitter and WhoSay accounts, McConaughey, 42, has finally asked Alves, 29, for her hand in marriage.

Looks like McConaughey may have pulled a Jedi mind-trick to throw people of the scent of the pending engagement as he had previously sent mixed signals regarding his feelings on marriage. In an interview with Cigar Aficiando magazine McConaughey was quoted as saying that marriage was “not something we feel we need to be complete. It doesn’t mean we won’t do it.” In a March interview with Esquire, he indicated that Alves, the host of Bravo’s Sheer Genius, is “the woman… I wanna make a family with, [and] hopefully live our life out together.

Married or not, the two make quite a handsome pair. Looking forward to the wedding! Congrats!
