Lindsay Lohan's Playboy Sales Not Doing Good or Breaking Records?

Although Playboy boss, Hugh Hefner, tweeted that the Lindsay Lohan issue of Playboy broke sales records, customers were not impressed. Some even said the issue isn’t selling too good.

Lux Alptraum, editor of Fleshbot.com said:

“I’m not surprised at all. Despite Playboy’s hype, there was nothing particularly shocking or new about this shoot. While these shots may have been slightly closer to full frontal than Lindsay’s previous shots, they weren’t actually full frontal; there was also nothing particularly new about Lindsay dressing up as Marilyn Monroe.”

He also added, ” I thought the shots were really boring and didn’t really live up to the promises Playboy had made. If they’d actually gotten full frontal shots of Lindsay, or come up with a fresher, more interesting concept, there might have been more demand for the photos.”

And guess what, even Hef had doubts about putting Lohan on his magazine. In an exclusive interview with E! News, Hef said:

“It really came as a surprise to me. I kind of had mixed emotions about it initially, and then it turned into something bigger than life. I wasn’t quite sure where she was at in her life, obviously. It depends on whether it’s Tuesday or Thursday.”

Looks like the fiasco begun since the new cover was leaked before Lohan appeared at Ellen DeGeneres’ show to debut the cover. Playboy initiated a PR move and released the issue early. To make matters worse: Lohan had to cancel her appearance on Ellen due to a travel snafu, hence no interview.

This is really intriguing as a Playboy spokesman said the issue was selling very well but wouldn’t give out sales numbers.

Well it better be good because I’d fire anybody who cost me close to $1 million if it doesn’t break even.
