The Black Entertainment Television honors music legends Stevie Wonder and Mariah Carey at the 2012 BET Honors for their outstanding contributions to African-American culture.

Stevie Wonder will receive the recognition in musical arts category and Mariah Carey will be honored with the ‘Best Entertainer’ award.

Aside from musicians, BET also honors poet Maya Angelou for her literary arts achievements and also filmmaker Spike Lee for his extraordinary work.

Gabrielle Union will host the ceremony which will take place at the Warner Theater in Washington, D.C. on January 14.
