NBC Has Eyes On Ryan Seacrest For "Today"

I think E! Channel should prepare itself to lose Ryan Seacrest to NBCUniversal. The network is currently going after Seacrest to make him successor to Matt Lauer on the “Today” show if Lauer quits next year.

NBC execs which included the “Today” show executive producer Jim Bell, NBC News President Steve Capus and Senior Vice President for Marketing and Communications Lauren Kapp, have met with Seacrest, Tuesday evening to propose the offer.

Matt Lauer has been sending signals to the show’s execs since early this year and the team has been hard at work looking for his replacement. It won’t be easy replacing Lauer who has been occupying the co-anchor chair since 1997.

Both Seacrest and Lauer haven’t commented on the issue.

Do you think Ryan Seacrest is the perfect replacement for Matt Lauer?
