CBS Confirms Ashton Kutcher Will Replace Charlie Sheen!

It’s official: Ashton Kutcher is the new star of Two and a Half Men. CBS has confirmed reports Kutcher will replace Charlie Sheen, who was fired in March after public fights with the network and the show’s creator Chuck Lorre. Lorre has expressed his happiness over Kutcher joining the cast.

“We are so lucky to have someone as talented, joyful and just plain remarkable as Ashton joining our family. Added to that is the deep sigh of relief knowing that our family stays together. If I was any happier, it’d be illegal,” he said.

Kutcher released a statement saying he “can’t wait” to get to work.

“I can’t wait to get to work with this ridiculously talented 2.5 team and I believe we can fill the stage with laughter that will echo in the viewers’ homes,” he said. “I can’t replace Charlie Sheen but I’m going to work my ass off to entertain the hell out of people.”

Sheen also had something to say about his replacement.

“Kutcher is a sweetheart and a brilliant comedic performer … Oh wait, so am I!!” he told TMZ. “Enjoy planet Chuck, Ashton. There is no air, laughter, loyalty, or love there.”

Kutcher will begin filming the ninth season this summer with the rest of the original cast, including Jon Cryer, Angus T. Jones, Holland Taylor, Marin Hinkle and Conchata Ferrell. The new season will air this fall.
