Katie Couric will be returning to her ‘Today Show’ roots on Wednesday (April 13) to talk with Matt Lauer about her new book “The Best Advice I Ever Got: Lessons From Extraordinary Lives,” due out tomorrow.

Also in the news is a possible Couric/Lauer project in the works.

Once Katie steps down as anchor for CBS News, she will start work on a new syndicated talk show with Jeff Zucker, whom she worked with on The Today Show.

Matt’s contract with “Today” expires in December 2012 and it sounds like he will not be renewing.

The twosome have been discussing the possibilities of Matt co-anchoring Katie’s new morning talk show. .
