
Since it has been so freaking cold outside (virtually everywhere), and we will probably be spending some more time keeping warm indoors (yay) lets see what movies are coming out on DVD and Blue Ray this week. Here is the list of releases for Tuesday, February 8:
Life As We Know It: starring Katherine Heigl, Christina Hendricks, Josh Duhamel, Jessica St. Clair and Josh Lucas. The romantic comedy follows Holly, a successful caterer, and Eric, a network sports director, as their lives are suddenly thrown together when they are named the legal guardians of their goddaughter following the death of their mutual best friends. Rated PG 13
You Again: starring Kristen Bell, Jamie Lee Curtis, Sigourney Weaver, Betty White, Odette Yustman and Victor Garber. The comedy follows a successful PR pro who returns home for her brother’s wedding and finds out he is marrying her high school nemesis. The groom’s mom soon learns she will also be related to her high school nemesis – the bride’s aunt. Rated PG
I Spit On Your Grave: starring Sarah Butler, Chad Lindberg, Daniel Franzese, Tracey Walter and Jeff Branson. The thriller follows Jennifer, beautiful writer from the city who rents a cabin in the woods for solitude as she writes her new novel. What starts out as a peaceful trip to the country soon turns into a hellish ordeal for Jennifer when she is attacked and raped by a group of lowlifes. Although she is left for dead, Jennifer survives and hunts down her attackers for revenge. Rated R
For Colored Girls: starring Kimberly Elise, Janet Jackson, Loretta Devine, Thandie Newton and Anika Noni Rose. The drama is based on the Broadway sensation For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When The Rainbow Is Enuf. It explores the joys and struggles of being a woman of color. Rated R
Paranormal Activity 2: starring Katie Featherston. The horror film follows a family who sets up security cameras in their home after experiencing a series of break-ins. The cameras reveal the incidences were not just “break-ins.” Rated R
It’s Kind of a Funny Story: starring Zack Galifianakis, Emma Roberts, Lauren Graham, Zoe Kravitz and Viola Davis. The comedy is about a 16-year-old boy named Craig who checks himself into the adult ward of a mental health clinic. He soon becomes close with several of the patients, including 16-year-old Noelle. Craig learns about life, love and being a teenager from his new friends. Rated PG 13
