Lily Allen and her boyfriend Sam Cooper got engaged on Christmas Day.
Cooper got down on one knee at sunset on the balcony of their $800-a-night suite at the Amankila cliff-side resort, which overlooks the Indian Ocean.
Following the proposal the couple celebrated in the hotel bar, drinking champagne and cocktails with other guests.
“Lily was telling everyone that she and Sam had just got engaged – they could not keep the smiles off their faces. It couldn’t have been more romantic. The resort is just so peaceful and picturesque.”
The engagement means 2010 ends on a happier note for the couple, who lost their baby in November when Lily was six months pregnant.
