Jillian Michaels has announced she is leaving Biggest Loser after season 11. Michaels’ decision to leave the weight loss show was prompted by her desire to start a family.
“I want to take a year off TV and focus on becoming a mommy and doing more charity work,” Michaels, 36, wrote on Twitter.
She revealed that helping kids lost weight on her show ‘Losing It’ is what got her thinking about wanting a family. “Living with kids, I saw firsthand what I was missing,” she wrote.
“Season 11 of Biggest Loser will be my last
have to finish out my contract,” Michaels Tweeted.
She later told a Twitter follower that NBC has already hired her replacement.
“Using my last season to help launch her in season 11,” she added.
Michaels will likely adopt. In an interview with Women’s Health in May 2010 she said she “can’t handle doing that (pregnancy) to my body.” She later admitted on an episode of “The Talk” that pregnancy would be difficult for her because she suffers from endometriosis and Polycystic ovarian syndrome
