Howard K. Stern Found Guilty In Drug Case

On Thursday (October 28), an L.A. jury reached its verdict in the drug conspiracy case related to the February 8, 2007 drug overdose death of Anna Nicole Smith, 39.

Smith’s boyfriend Howard K. Stern and her doctors Sandeep Kapoor and Khristine Eroshevich were all accused of illegally providing drugs to Smith excessively prescribing opiates and sedatives to an addict, and using fake names to obtain prescriptions; all three had pled not guilty.

While Kapoor was acquitted on all charges, both Stern and Eroshevich were found guilty on several counts. Attorney Stern was convicted on two of nine counts for giving false names and acting by fraud to obtain prescriptions. Eroshevich was convicted of unlawfully prescribing painkiller Vicodin by fraud.

The trio was not charged in her death.
