Bill and Giuliana Rancic were trying to start a family this spring, Giuliana had to undergo in vitro fertilization treatments in order to get pregnant. The two were thrilled when they found out they were pregant only to find out nine weeks later, Giuliana miscarried.

“Both of us were in shock,” said Bill. “Failure wasn’t an option!”

Now they are debating if it is worth it to go through possible heartbreak again. Giuliana said:

“I said, ‘I’m not doing this again. I can’t.’ I was angry at life and at God. Hopefully we can help people understand that there’s nothing to be ashamed of. It’s such a taboo subject, but it’s a very common problem.”

The new season of Giuliana & Bill, which returns to the Style Network on Oct. 11.
