American Idol host Ryan Seacrest confirmed today that Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler will join Randy Jackson as judges of the hit show. Seacrest made the long awaited announcement at a live press conference Wednesday.

“We are looking for the next star in music. We usually ask, who will be the next American Idol? We never asked this question, who will be the next judges on American Idol?” he told the crowd.

“Feels like the perfect feathered nest,” Tyler said after he was introduced. “It’s being a part of something much bigger than yourself. I want to bring some rock to this roller coaster.”

“I love you guys. I am so excited. It is about concentrating in the moment, do the best you can. Just live! Just live, it’s your moment,” added Lopez.

Season 10 of American Idol begins in January.
