Paris Hilton has accepted a plea deal in her drug possession case. In exchange for pleading guilty to misdemeanor drug possession and obstructing an officer, Hilton will avoid jail time and receive 1 year of probation. Hilton must also pay a $2,000 fine, complete a substance abuse program and complete 200 hours of community service. If Hilton, 29, is arrested during her probation, she will serve 1 year in jail.
“We fashioned a resolution which would give us complete control over her future. If she does not toe the line and stay out of trouble she will do one year in the Clark County Detention Center,” said Clark County District Attorney David Roger.
HIlton will enter the guilty plea Monday in a hearing in Las Vegas. The charges stem from Hilton’s arrest on August 28 for possession of cocaine. Hilton and boyfriend Cy Waits were pulled over on the Las Vegas Strip. An officer found .8 grams of cocaine in Hilton’s purse. Hilton claimed she borrowed the purse from a friend and insisted most of the bag’s contents, including the cocaine, were not hers.
