MTV announced yesterday that Chelsea Handler will host this year’s Video Music Awards!
The comedian, 35, will emcee the show, broadcast live from Los Angeles on September 12.
“Everyone knows that when you think of rap music and hip-hop you think of Chelsea Lately,” Handler joked on Wednesday’s Chelsea Lately. “And that’s why I will be hosting them.”
Handler is taking over for British comic star Russell Brand, who hosted the past two awards shows.
