I think at this point it’s basically obligatory for Kim Kardashian to do some type of controversial photoshoot on a weekly basis. This time she chose cruelty to animals over the usual nudity. She did, however, defend her photo.

“Pic from my shoot yesterday…good kitty cat!” she wrote beneath a new TwitPic. In the snapshot, the 29-year-old, wearing long leather black gloves and a cleavage-bearing top, holds a black cat by the scruff of its neck.

The reality star drew ire from some fans on Twitter, who worried that she was causing pain to the kitty — and finally defended herself on her blog. “Rest assured, the owner and vet were on set and showed me how to pick him up,” Kardashian wrote. The cat was not harmed in any way and is perfectly fine! I love animals and would never do anything to harm animals.”
