Actor David Carradine was found dead in a Bangkok hotel room Wednesday. Carradine’s manager, Chuck Binder, said the actor was found by the producer of his latest movie, which was being filmed in Bangkok.
Binder called Carradine’s death “shocking and sad.” “He was full of life, always wanting to work … a great person.” Citing Thai police sources, the BBC reports that a hotel maid discovered the American actor in a closet with a rope around his neck and body. Carradine was 73.
Carradine is best known for his role on the TV series ‘Kung Fu.’ He also starred in both ‘Kill Bill’ films. Carradine most recently starred in ‘Crank: High Voltage’ and appeared in the Jonas Brothers ‘Burnin’ Up’ music video.
UPDATE: The rep said David’s death was “accidental.” And there’s this … the BBC is now reporting that David’s body was found hanging with a rope around his neck and “genitals.” Carradine’s body was found nude, hanging in a closet. David’s rep added, “We can confirm 100% that he never would have committed suicide. It was an accidental death. Everybody is in shock.”
