Paula Abdul could possibly be quitting American idol after her contract is up at the end of this season. The singer denies reports that new judge Kara DioGuardi was hired to replace, but says it may be an opportunity for her to move on from Idol.
“This is my last season under contract. I love the show, I do,” she says in a new interview with Nightline host Cynthia McFadden. “I love what I do on the show and I’m loving it more this season than ever. It’s taken me a while to get comfortable in my own skin with the show.” “I don’t think anyone [can replace me]. First of all, Kara says ‘I could never replace you.’ And I said whenever there is change it’s not about replacing anybody, it’s about possibly moving on,” Abdul adds.
Abdul’s comments about leaving the show echoes those of fellow judge Simon Cowell, who also admitted he is considering leaving the show after his contract is up.
