The "Bride Wars" Reviews Are In

In today’s absolutely shocking news, Bride Wars reviews have come in calling the movie “a time waster” and “a dog.” The movie has registered a whopping 11% on Rotten Tomatoes. Here’s an excerpt from the NY Post review:

GARY Winick’s exceedingly lame “Bride Wars,” a truly inauspicious start to 2009 at the movies, is interesting only – and very slightly, at that – as a cautionary tale about Hollywood stardom.

It’s a minor blip on the soaring career of Anne Hathaway, who should be receiving an Oscar nomination for her work in the infinitely superior marital comedy “Rachel Getting Married” in a couple of weeks.

But it’s another nail in the coffin for Kate Hudson, whose career has long been headed in the other direction… I’ve seen funnier direct-to-video comedies.

Wow! I surely thought this was Oscar material! I’m glad I went to see The Unborn last night, it wasn’t great, but it kept me from wanting to rip my eyes out. Check out the article here for more absurdly bad reviews.

I saw this movie last night with my best friend. It was so funny! I don’t read reviews because it’s one persons opinion. I’ll judge for myself. It’s definatly a movie to see with your best girl friends and remind you the reason why it’s good to have them.
I give it two thumbs up.

Well I don’t understand the reviewers at all. This movie wasn’t intended to be a thought-provoking, change-the-world kind of movie. It was strictly a fun comedy. My husband and I went to see it and we both found it very entertaining. Personally it reminded me very much of my best friend from childhood and myself. I think many women who have been friends since childhood will relate to this movie. Both Kate and Anne were their usual adorable selves and turned in performances that their fans have come to expect in this type of movie. As usual, I didn’t bother to read the reviews prior to seeing the movie because I frequently disagree with them, especially when it comes to comedies. I think anyone who enjoys a light hearted comedy and/or likes both Kate Hudson and Ann Hathaway should disregard the critics and go see this film and decide for themselves if they like it or not.
