Jennifer Aniston’s new movie “Marley and Me” is opening on Christmas Day, the same day as ex-husband Brad Pitt’s movie “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.” So what would be the worst thing Jen could do that day? Show up solo of course! Ouch! When Jen and John Mayer split awhile back, Jen was having a panic attack abouit showing up on the red carpet dateless. How embarrassing she even asked her agent to help set her up with hot eligible bachelors.

Aniston “did not want to be single when her movie opened,” one source said. “A friend of her agent was calling around asking for young men whom they could set her up with.” But the attempt to find a replacement for Mayer was aborted when he and Aniston soon got back together.

Thank god crisis averted. The last thing Jen wants to see is Brad making his PR rounds with hottie Angelina on his arm and Jen hanging with Marley. Lucky for Jen, John Mayer is back in her life. At the LA premiere of “Marley & Me” the other night, Mayer told reporters, “I’m here to support my girl.” Awww, sounds serious.
