The estranged brother-in-law of Jennifer Hudson has been arrested for the murders of the actress and singer’s mother, brother and nephew. William Balfour, 27, was transferred in to the custody of Chicago police Monday. He had been in jail for violating his parole.
Balfour, who is married to Hudson’s sister Julia Hudson, was arrested for investigation of killing Darnell Donerson, 57, Jason Hudson, 29, and his stepson, 7-year-old Julian King on October 24. The bodies of Donerson and Hudson were found in the family’s Chicago home. King was missing and an Amber Alert was issued. His body was found several days later in an abandoned SUV. All three had been shot to death.
Balfour had previously served time on charges of attempted murder. He was arrested hours after Donerson and Hudson were found on parole violations.
