A Starbucks coffee shop, 3d Avenue & 92d Street in New York City, where a small improvised explosive device went off shortly before 3:30 this morning, shattering the windows of the store, and splintering the bench it had been placed on. The time of the blast, the small size of the device and the political nature of the target are similar to several other small bombings that have occurred Manhattan since 2005, including that of the British and Mexican consulates, as well the Times Square recruiting center. Police, however, said it was too early to discuss a possible link.
